The company has hotels and offices at 50 locations, the network comprises of backbone connecting 6 locations and other locations connecting to the backbone at the nearest of the six backbone nodes.
The Need
They required a solution, which provided "mailbox in suitcase" so that users can access their mailboxes / folders from any location without changing any configuration / settings. Further they required optimal use of their leased lines network to route mails and use of dialup in case of leased line failure. The above requirements were in addition to the
standard feature requirements like global address book, anti virus protection at mail server, web based administration for user & aliases management etc.
Netmagic mail Solution
Netmagic offered IMAP based solution with distributed mail server architecture. It offered individual IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) mailboxes and web-based access to all the users.
It is a completely outsourced solution excluding the hardware. Broadly Netmagic will be responsible for setting up and managing the mail solution, the working and details of the same are provided in the following sub-sections.
