Requirements
The client felt that in order to meet the international Standards and requirements expected of a BPO provider, a robust and reliable Disaster Recovery Plan and Solution was required to safeguard against potential unforeseen failures occurring on their Network and Servers, located in the US. Potential Disasters could be construed as compromised Server availability, Link unavailability, or even the complete Datacenter unavailability of their US based Hosting Provider.

The Solution
The Disaster Recovery Plan proposed by NetMagic consisted of creating a parallel Secondary System Environment in India. This Secondary Environment created by NetMagic is passive in nature, in an always-on, Warm Standby mode.
The client's primary System Environment in the US is a LAMP Environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). An Asynchronous Replication mechanism is configured and implemented by NetMagic using the Rsync open-standard Protocol. NetMagic's Rsync configuration ensures asynchronous replication between the two LAMP environments at predefined frequencies during the day.
Solution Depiction
To ensure fail-safe synchronization between the Primary and Secondary Email Servers, NetMagic has created and implemented in-house, proprietary scripts to replicate the email store. Additionally, the DNS is configured in way that the Secondary Entry points to Mail robust and high-load bearing Mail Server at NetMagic Data-center.

The above-mentioned precautions ensure that Disaster Recovery and Operational Continuity prevails in the event that a downtime is incurred on the Primary LAMP System Environment, by means of a switchover to the Secondary LAMP System Environment located within the NetMagic Datacenter.
