Sharad Sanghi is the CEO of Netmagic (An NTT Communications Company), an organization that he founded in July 1998. Over the years, it has emerged as India’s only Datacenter Infrastructure Lifecycle Management Company with over 700 employees and 7 datacenters delivering services to over 1200 enterprise customers across the globe.
He is also considered a pioneer in the Indian cloud computing space. It’s his vision that saw Netmagic launching Cloud services as part of its portfolio in 2009 and today has helped Netmagic become a leader in the Public Cloud services market in India with over 300 customers on its public cloud service platform - SimpliCloud.
Sharad led Netmagic through 3 successful VC funding rounds with Nexus Venture Partners, Fidelity, Cisco Systems, Nokia Growth Partners. NTT Communications, Japan acquired a majority stake in Netmagic. The majority stake sale to a strategic foreign player was a first in the Indian datacenter market.
Sharad is an industry veteran with over twenty years of experience in developing Internet backbone infrastructure and providing Internet services. He is one of just a few Indians to have worked as an engineer on the first major backbone of the Internet: NSFNet in the US.
During a six-year stint in the US, Sharad worked with AT&T Bell Labs, the Backbone Engineering Group of NSFNET (ANS) and Advantis (IBM Global Network). He has also helped Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust in designing and deploying wide area networks.
Sharad has a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Masters degree from Columbia University in New York.
Hiroyuki Fujisawa is the Director, Global Business Department at NTT Communications. In this capacity, he leads the practice for post-merger integration of the acquired companies and subsequent planning and execution.
Prior to this role, he was the head of treasury at NTT Communications. He has also served as Head of Finance and Corporate Strategy at NTT America, Inc. in his previous roles.
Hiroyuki Fujisawa has over 25 years of IT and Communications industry experience. He holds a Degree in Bachelor of Political Science and Economics from Waseda University, Japan. His hobbies include cycling.
Hideki Kurihara is the Director, Cloud Services Department at NTT Communications. In this capacity, he leads the practice for Product Management of global Enterprise Cloud Services. Currently he is working on developing and globalizing Enterprise Cloud Services of NTT Communications, working closely with its global subsidiaries and partners.
Prior to the current role, he served with the NTT Communications’ subsidiaries in United States for 10 years, holding several key positions besides being General Manager of Enterprise Hosting business unit at NTT America and Vice President of Product Strategy at Verio.
Hideki Kurihara has over 23 years of IT and Communications industry experience. He has been working on the hosting and cloud computing industry for the last 14 years. He holds a Degree in Bachelor and Master of Science from University of Tokyo, Japan and Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, France. His hobbies include Tennis, Golf and Fishing.

Sunil Gupta has unparalleled credentials in an industry that’s barely over a decade old. He is known as the man who has built and run the most numbers of datacenters in India. With over 12 datacenters spread over 12,00,000 sq.ft. of space under his belt, he, today, can guide a data center business both from a macro and micro perspective.
As its President & COO, Sunil Gupta is responsible for charting the course for all Netmagic services in an IDC and IT managed services environment with specific focus on the profitability and operations of its data center business.
Sunil joined Netmagic in 2010, with the specific mandate of helping scale India’s leader in datacenter services. And he has done that and more. Netmagic’s turnover and customer base has increased three fold and its staff strength has increased from 210 to over 650, in the last 3 years. It has also become a leader in Cloud services and added large enterprise businesses to its client roster.
For a company that is growing at a phenomenal pace, Sunil’s key contribution is to have built systems and processes to help the company scale. He is executive sponsor for the roll-out of the revamped and integrated ERP, CRM and many of the underlying OSS / BSS automation systems at Netmagic.
He, along with the other senior management team at Netmagic, was instrumental in taking the company through the year-long due diligence process for the successful majority stake acquisition by NTT Communications, Japan in Netmagic Solutions which concluded in July 2012.
Sunil’s vast datacenter experience includes complete life cycle management of datacenter business including business planning, sales, business development, data centre construction and operationalization, customer service delivery and revenue assurance.
Prior to joining Netmagic, he spent 10 years at Reliance Communications where, as Senior Vice President and Business Head of Data Center BU, he helped set-up and manage its IDC business.
Sunil has over 21 years of IT and Communication industry experience and prior to Netmagic and Reliance Communications, has held senior executive positions at Global Telecom Services, Iris Software and Angel Solutions.
He is a regular speaker and panelist at major industry seminars and trade shows and has spoken at events like Gartner Infrastructure Operations and Datacenter Summit, CIO Leadership Summit, Interop, Datacenter Dynamics, Banknet among others.
He has also authored “Financial model for understanding data center investments” – an in-depth mathematical model, to help CIOs make datacenter investment decisions.
Sunil has an Engineering degree with a specialization in Electronics and Telecommunications as well as an MBA in Marketing Management.
He counts The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari and Alchemist among his favourite books.
He loves old Hindi movie songs and Ghazals and is known to bring the house down when he jams with his 50 member strong Karaoke club at his Mumbai home.
Varghese Thomas is Partner at J. Sagar Associates, Advocates & Solicitors, Mumbai. He has been with J. Sagar Associates since 2003 and has been a Partner of the firm since 2007.
He has extensive experience in diverse areas of law such as Mergers & Cross Border Investments & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Banking & Finance, Financial Services & Ports.
During his career, he has provided his expert advisory services to several Indian and foreign corporates and multinational institutions. He regularly advises clients on Indian law issues concerning general corporate laws, exchange control regulations and securities regulations and is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.
Varghese Thomas has over 12 years of industry experience. He holds a Degree in Law - B.A. L.L.B (Hons) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, India. His hobbies include collecting antique maps.
