Managing Director & CEO
Sharad Sanghi is the Managing Director and CEO of Netmagic, an organization that he founded in July 1998, and now an NTT Communications Company.
As 'the man on top', Sharad is responsible for growing Netmagic to be India’s leading Managed Hosting and Cloud Service Provider, with over 1000 employees and 9 data centers delivering services to over 1500 enterprise customers across the globe. His passion and commitment to deliver value to clients by building a customer focused service organization is infectious across the company.
Sharad is considered a pioneer in the Indian cloud computing space, and his vision has helped Netmagic become a leader in the Public Cloud services market in India.
On the business side, Sharad led Netmagic through 3 successful VC funding rounds with Nexus Venture Partners, Fidelity, Cisco Systems and Nokia Growth Partners. He led the 2012 acquisition the company’s majority stake by NTT Communication Japan - a first in the Indian data center market.
Sharad is an industry veteran with over 20 years of extensive experience in developing Internet backbone infrastructure and providing Internet services. He is also Part time Non-official Director on the Board of Bharat Electronics Limited, appointed by the Government of India.
During a six-year stint in the US, Sharad worked for Unified Network Management Architecture Group at AT&T Bell Labs, the Backbone Engineering Group of NSFNET (ANS) and the Router Systems Development Group of Advantis (IBM Global Network). He has also helped Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust design and deploy Wide Area Networks.
Sharad is an Electrical Engineer from IIT Bombay and holder of a Masters degree from Columbia University, New York.
Hideki Kurihara is the Director, Cloud Services Department at NTT Communications. In this capacity, he leads the practice for Product Management of global Enterprise Cloud Services. Currently he is working on developing and globalizing Enterprise Cloud Services of NTT Communications, working closely with its global subsidiaries and partners.
Prior to the current role, he served with the NTT Communications' subsidiaries in United States for 10 years, holding several key positions besides being General Manager of Enterprise Hosting business unit at NTT America and Vice President of Product Strategy at Verio.
Hideki Kurihara has over 23 years of IT and Communications industry experience. He has been working on the hosting and cloud computing industry for the last 14 years. He holds a Degree in Bachelor and Master of Science from University of Tokyo, Japan and Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, France. His hobbies include Tennis, Golf and Fishing.
Shigeki Hayashi is the Director, Global Business Department at NTT Communications. In this capacity, he leads the practice for post-merger integration of the acquired companies and subsequent planning and execution.
Prior to this role, he worked on management and monitoring of overseas subsidiaries at NTT Communications Corporation. He has also worked on various corporate management issues for NTT Europe Ltd. in U.K. in his previous roles.
Shigeki Hayashi has over 20 years of IT and Communications industry experience. He holds a Degree in Bachelor of Economics from Osaka University, Japan. His hobbies include jogging and golf.
Executive Director and President
Sunil Gupta, known as the man who has built and run most data centers in India, is the Executive Director and President of Netmagic, an NTT Communications Company. Sunil is responsible for charting the course for all services in the data center, cloud and IT managed services space with specific focus on the revenue growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
With unparalleled credentials in IT Infrastructure industry, Sunil is an expert to guide a data center business from a macro and micro perspective, having built and run over 15 data centers spread over more than 16,00,000 sq ft.
In a career spanning 23 years, Sunil had spent 10 years at Reliance Communications as Senior Vice President and Business Head of Data Center Business Unit. He has also held senior executive positions at GTL, Iris Software and Angel Solutions. He is an angel investor, a founder member of CIO angel network and is also NASSCOM western council member.
Sunil is a regular speaker and panelist at major industry seminars and trade shows, and has spoken at Gartner Infrastructure Operations and Data Center Summit, CIO Leadership Summit, INTEROP, Datacenter Dynamics, Banknet, among others. He is also the author of “Financial model for understanding data center investments”, an in-depth mathematical model aimed to help CIOs make data center investment decisions.
Sunil is a management graduate with specialization in Strategy & Finance from Columbia Business School, New York, has an Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications and an MBA degree in Marketing Management.
When not indulging in his technology and business pursuits, Sunil is often seen with a book in hand. Among his favourites are “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” and “Alchemist”. He also has a passion for Hindi movie songs and Ghazals, and is known to bring down the house when he jams with his 50-member karaoke gang.
Harvinderjit Singh Bhatia
Chief Financial Officer
Harvinderjit Singh Bhatia, fondly called Harry, is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Netmagic Solutions, an NTT Communications Company.
In this role, Harry is responsible for financial and legal functions of the company. He is a member of the think-tank providing strategic direction to the Board of Directors on all strategic, financial and regulatory matters. He played a pivotal role in the acquisition of a majority stake in Netmagic by NTT Communications.
Harry has an experience of over 25 years in the Corporate world. Prior to joining Netmagic, he was associated with organizations such as Digicable Network, Murjani Group and was a founder team member of India's cult FM brand, Radio Mirchi. He started his career with a consultancy firm before joining Seagram India in 1994, when the liquor major was making inroads into the Indian market.
Harry's belief in India's start-up success is consistent through his ability to raise capital for the companies that he has been part of. He is an active member of the Mumbai Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), and takes interest in advising and mentoring start-ups. He also serves as Honorary Director – Vocational Activities, at Rotary Club of Mumbai Khar.
Harry is a Chartered Accountant and is an Alumni of Columbia Business School, USA (Executive Program in Management). He also holds an Executive Masters in International Trade from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (1999), and is a commerce graduate from Delhi University.
When not crunching numbers, Harry loves to play Scrabble, and is an ardent cricket and soccer fan. He stays in Mumbai with his wife and 2 sons.
Varghese Thomas is Partner at J. Sagar Associates, Advocates & Solicitors, Mumbai. He has been with J. Sagar Associates since 2003 and has been a Partner of the firm since 2007.
He has extensive experience in diverse areas of law such as Mergers & Cross Border Investments & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Banking & Finance, Financial Services & Ports.
During his career, he has provided his expert advisory services to several Indian and foreign corporates and multinational institutions. He regularly advises clients on Indian law issues concerning general corporate laws, exchange control regulations and securities regulations and is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.
Varghese Thomas has over 12 years of industry experience. He holds a Degree in Law - B.A. L.L.B (Hons) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, India. His hobbies include collecting antique maps.

We have worked out a model with Netmagic where our spend on IT is not only cost efficient but also gives us the flexibility to manage our cash flows. We adopted a linear way of allocating IT spends where we do not have to provision for a huge CapEx initially and we only pay for what we use.
