Primary Responsibility:

  • Advance Linux OS installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Strong Cross Platform Integration Knowledge and experience
  • Shell Scripting knowledge
  • Expertise in Sendmail/ qmail/Postfix/Zimbra
  • Expertise in apache
  • Expertise in performance fine-tuning on OS, kernel and application front
  • Expertise in Redhat Cluster
  • Experience on storage and virtualization technology
  • Good experience in DNS, DHCP, Openldap, NFS, NIS, Samba and Squid
  • Advance Redhat cluster configuration and troubleshooting
  • Expertise in Logical volume manager and file system management
  • Expertise in Iptables, tcprappers ans selinux
  • Vendor Management
  • Patch management
  • NOC & Datacenter experience
  • Strong Hardware knowledge on Multiple Vendors
  • Strong Knowledge of different Monitoring Systems and their functionality requirements with respect to Linux/overlapping Applications and Physical Hardware
  • Experience in Database Management would be preferred
  • Experience in Tomcat, ngnx and JBOSS is preferred
  • Experience in native tools and commercial backup solution

  • Guide junior L2 / L1 engineers & work alongside for troubleshooting
  • Working on Escalated/P1 issues and providing solution abiding the SLA

  • Carry out technology upgrades & migrations of applications across multiple platforms
  • Associate with system engineering for designing new solutions

  • Ensuring that the change requests are implemented within defined timelines
  • Carrying out feasibility check of Services


Secondary Responsibility:

SIP/Innovation

  • Conducting POC for new technology
  • Prepare case studies. Design/ Implement solutions and impart training on team members
  • Identify performance bottle neck and Mitigate them
  • Automation of various tasks to improve the operation efficiency
Process adherence
  • Follow the approval process for patch management , OS and firmware upgrade
  • Analysis of Tickets/IR/CR for quality updates and, timely updates
  • Adhere to shift timings and shift handover process
  • Ensure BCP and mock restoration process is followed as per schedule
  • Prepare SOP's all critical services
  • Prepare Project Run Book
  • Equip team with necessary documents /Audit trails/evidences for Audit purpose
  • Ensure critical patches are updated for all infra servers
CSAT/TSAT
  • should have knowledge and understanding of customers problems and works towards their resolution in timely and efficient manner for improving customer experience/feedback
Skill Development
  • Should work towards enhancement of his skill set on a continual basis.
  • Impart regular training on team members
  • Regular mentoring of L2 engineers
Capacity management
  • Should do capacity analysis and prepare report
  • Ensure maximum uptime of infrastructure services


Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Hands on experience on any of the OS like RHCE, Centos, etc
  • Hands on experience on Internet protocols like DNS, SMTP, HTTP
  • Hands on experience on any of these apps, Apache, MySQL
  • Good understanding of OS and application hardening
  • Indepth working knowledge of any mail application like Qmail, Postfix
  • Working knowledge on any hardware like HP/Sun/IBM/Dell and corresponding tools like Open Manage, IBM Director, HP Insight, etc
  • Good working Knowledge on LDAP, Syslog, Bind
  • Good understanding of Storage (SAN \ NAS)
  • Prior experience in any of these industry (Datacenter, ISP, Service provider)


Desired Technical Skills:

  • Familiar with Storage, Cluster and Virtualization concepts
  • Knowledge of shell scripting
  • Good understanding of Internet applications


Typical Years of Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience


Education Qualifications:

  • Any Graduate or Diploma in IT/Electronics


Preferred Qualifications:

  • RHCE& ITIL Certifications
