SimpliStor: NAS and SAN offerings

SimpliStor is a Storage offering within Netmagic's Public offerings. Customers can contract SimpliStor services as an addition to normal Cloud services; simply choose the type of storage that best fits your application needs.

SimpliNAS

Netmagic’s SimpliNAS is part of Netmagic’s SimpliStor Cloud Stack. It is a ready-to-deploy Storage Instance which provides “file-level access” to your Virtual Machines. There is no limit on number of SimpliNAS Instances which can be mounted on to a Single VM just as there is no limit on the number of VM’s that can share a common SimpliNAS Storage.

SimpliNAS Storage is available only in FIXED mode and not in ELASTIC mode i.e. the SimpliNAS Instances are always-on and are charged on monthly basis.

SimpliSAN

Netmagic’s SimpliNAS is part of Netmagic’s SimpliStor Cloud Stack, but unlike SimpliNAS, SimpliSAN provides you with Block-level storage which means you can create a Cloud-based SAN storage layer if you have clustering requirements or need expanded block-level storage for databases, etc.

In keeping with best practices for multiple operating systems, SimpliSAN is best used by mounting it onto a single Windows SimpliCompute VM, whereas multiple Linux SimpliCompute VMs can access a single SimpliSAN layer. If you have Windows-based or SQL-based clustering requirements, SimpliSAN is the ideal cloud-storage layer for you.
